James Cain, affectionately known as Uncle Son and Titus, age 90, died peacefully April 13th, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut USA. He was born on Monday, May 22, 1922 in the district of Friendship Gap, in the Parish of St. Mary in Jamaica. James is cherished last surviving son of Jane-Ann Cain (ne) and Theophilas Cain. In 1952 James settled in the district of Llandewey in the parish of St. Thomas in Jamaica where he met, courted and married his wife of 55 years, Mavis Cain (ne Johnson). A devoted family man James and Mavis raised seven children. James' memories will live on in the hearts of his wife, Mavis; children Winston (Maud) Johnson of Canada, Franklin (Joan) Cain of Jamaica, Pansy Cain of Bridgeport, Margaret Rose Cain of Bridgeport, Albert (Janet) Cain of Jamaica, Lurline (Michael) Cain-Brown of Florida and Merlene (Earl) Gayle of Florida. James also leaves behind 22 grandchildren; Mark, Ava, Karen, Vendie, Nadine, Kaye, Devon, Stacey, Sherene, Sherese, Tigana, Curtis, Tiffany, Abigail, Leighton, Krishna, Ovita, Dadrian, Earl, Earlene, Romario and Michael as well as 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews in whose hearts always be cherished. In 2007 James and wife Mavis migrated to Bridgeport, Connecticut so that they could be closer to the family he so loved. James was easy going and the last person to get angry. He could find humor in almost anything. A gifted stone mason he enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was in the garden or in the kitchen making his family's favorite dishes. James loved life, his gentle humor and warm embrace made him a friend magnet to any, and all, who had the opportunity to meet and know him. He will be truly missed. Rest in peace daddy, sleep on, until we meet again. A service in celebration of James' life, led by Pastor Maxwell Ferguson, will be held from 11:00AM - 1:00PM at the church.
