Jaluhi 'Julia' Slocum

Jaluhi "Julia" Senitio-Slocum age 88, of Bridgeport CT., the widow of Albert Slocum Sr., entered into eternal rest, at Bridgeport Hospital on December 12, 2016. During her earlier years, Jaluhi lived in Brooklyn, NY then relocated to Bridgeport, CT. where she continued to be a resident for over 70 years. She graduated from Warren Harding High School during an era when many Americans were called to serve here and abroad. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, she enjoyed traveling and had many talents such as tap dancing, singing, and being a brilliant conversationalist. Though a fashonista and a force to be reckoned with in her earlier years, she valued family and the importance of support from her close friends Born January 7, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT., Jaluhi was the youngest of four and pre-deceased by: parents, Joseph & Annie Senitio; husband, Albert Slocum Sr.; daughter, Maureen Fuller; son, Raymond Lopez; sister, Marie Roberson; and grandson Raymar Lopez. She is survived by eight children: Gary Fuller of Stratford, CT., Paulette Patton of Bridgeport, CT., Desiree Scott of Bridgeport, CT., Dawnelle Rice of Bridgeport, CT., Gino Lopez of Bridgeport, CT., Albert Lopez of Bridgeport, CT., Melodie Slocum of West Haven, CT., and Albert Slocum Jr. of Maryland. The life, many memories, and wise counsel will always be cherished by all including 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Friends may greet the family Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 11:00am to 12:00pm; A Mass of Christian Burial will proceed at 12 noon all at St John Church, 768 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport, CT.
