Ismael Colon Rolon, fondly known as Cholo, age 77, entered heavenly rest on February 19, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT.
He was born on August 28, 1946, in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, to Antonio Colon and Julia Rolon.
Ismael moved to Maryland in 1960, where he initially worked in agriculture. Upon relocating to Connecticut, he joined the team at General Electric in Bridgeport in 1969. After GE's closure in 1994, he transitioned to a career in housekeeping and landscaping, becoming an integral part of Keith L. Cavanagh's team until his retirement.
Ismael's passion for gardening was evident as he took pride in his lush garden, often discussing plants and flowers on his long car rides through back roads. A beloved ritual for him was stopping by Speedy Donuts in Norwalk, CT, during his drives. Ismael is survived by his four children: Maria Mercedes, Maria Antonia, Ismael Colon, and Herminia Colon, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
