Ignacio Vazquez

Ignacio Vazquez Reyes, affectionately known as “Nacho,” age 77, of New Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. Ignacio was born on August 10, 1947, in Morovis, Puerto Rico, to the late Florentina Reyes and Jose Isabel Vazquez.

He was one of four siblings and shared many memories with Santo, Carmen, and Ramona. Ignacio had a heart full of love and humor — always quick with a joke and quicker to lend a helping hand. He had a deep appreciation for artisan woodcraft and could often be found creating with his hands, playing dominoes, or staying busy with his many hobbies. Domino tables, fishing trips, and romantic music were among the many joys that filled his life.

Above all, Ignacio was a loving husband to his wife of 29 years Eva Vazquez, a devoted father and a proud grandfather. He had two sons, Angel Vasquez and Ignacio Vasquez. He is predeceased by his son Angel and by his beloved parents. Ignacio is survived by his son Ignacio,his daughter in law Diana Ali, his cherished granddaughters Fatima, Tatiana, Jazmarie, Jayliana, and his great-granddaughter, Novyanah.

Known for his hard-working spirit, Ignacio was deeply committed to his family. He was the kind of man who could never stay mad, always choosing love, patience, and laughter. Ignacio's greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchild, whom he adored with all his heart. He cherished every smile, every visit, and every moment shared with them. His nieces and nephews also held a special place in his heart, and he was loved deeply by each and every one of them.
