Hector Gonzalez, age 59, passed into heavenly rest in Bridgeport, CT on Aril 20, 2023. Affectionately known as "El Mono" and "Monito", Hector was born on August 13, 1964 in Arecibos, Puerto Rico to his mother, Aurora Nieves. His brothers, sisters, and he were raised in Arecibos. He moved to Bridgeport about seven years ago to be closer to his family. Hector worked in Clinton Nurseries of Westbrook, CT, Hector was a beautiful soul, full of energy and a vivacious personality. His family said of him that he was down to earth, always had a smile on his face, and was the life of every party. Hector enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to dance, sing, take long walks with his family, and be a father-figure to his nieces and nephews. When they were younger, he would gather up all of his nieces and nephews and bring them to the arcade, where they would laugh and make memories to last a lifetime. Hector is predeceased by his mother, Aurora Nieves, and his brother, Antonio Gonzalez. He is survived by his children, Kristen Gonzalez and Christopher Gonzalez; his sisters Norma Iris Rosa, Evelyn Plumey, Yolanda Nieves, and Dianara Gonzalez; his brothers Armando Gonzalez and Juan Carlos Gonzalez; his grandson, and a whole host of nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 26, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 27 from 10:00am-11:00am, all taking place at Community Funeral Chapels 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06604 Tel: 203-334-9999.
