Hector Manuel 'Shorty' Alicea

Hector Manuel Alicea, 66, passed away at home on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 in Charlotte, NC. He was born May 29, 1953 in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, son of Rosa M. Alvarez and Jose Alicea. Hector was affectionately known as Shorty. He lived in Waterbury, CT for 21 years before moving to NC. On September 27, 1987, he married Virginia Gonzalez, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Hector was a musician, an amazing bass player, and performed in many venues, participating as well in the worship team of his church. He was an artist, black belt in karate, a huge Mets fan; had a good sense of humor, enjoyed gardening, crafts, watching TV Hector was a loving father to his 5 children: Rebecca, Xiomara, Hector Jr., Leticia, and Wilberto, and 7 grandchildren. Brother of Anna Maria Hill Alvarez, Vivian Nieves, Edgardo Hill, and Henry J. Hill 3rd "Hank"; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
