Gwendell Isaiah Pratt, age 80, of Bridgeport CT, passed into peaceful rest at Bridgeport Hospital on May 19, 2023. Gwendell was born to Glenn Dell Pratt and Grace Elizabeth Thomas on May 5, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He and his eleven siblings were raised in Baltimore and the family relocated to Mount Pocono, PA in 1955.He was affectionately known as "Gwen" or "Pratt". Gwendell had two children with his now deceased wife Brenda Moss by the name of Cherie and Kenny. Gwendell remarried in 1985 to Gail Johnson, and had two children by the names of Glenny and Erica. Gwendell was a kind, upbeat person, and could be quite the charmer. He was always determined to do things his way. He loved building things, and one of the last projects that he was proud of was his man cave tent. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. Gwen loved antique cars, and playing Spades along with other games like dominoes. He would play cards with friends and family until the morning light. He was a military veteran, and after having served in the Air Force, he was a policeman for the city of Stamford, CT. He worked a chauffeur, and owned a chauffeuring business called Pratt's Limousine Service. He also owned the restaurant called Pratt's Lunch and Dairy for about 10 years. Gwendell is predeceased by his parents, Glenn Pratt and Grace Thomas; his brothers Glenn Pratt, Raymond Pratt, Gerard Pratt, Rodney Pratt, and Gabriel Pratt; and a sister Joanne/Gladys Pratt, ex-wife Brenda Pratt. He is survived by his sisters Greta (Pratt) Sacks, Lahaina/Renee (Pratt) cfc798park@gmail.com Coqulin, and Shelly/Rochell Pratt; his brothers Rodell Pratt and Robert Pratt; ex-wife Gail Johnson (Pratt); his children Jennifer (Montgomery) Harris, Timothy Montgomery, Pronda (Pratt) Drayton, Cherie Pratt, Kenneth Pratt, Glenny Pratt, Thaddeus Patterson, Erica Pratt, Jeremy Pratt, Branden Pratt, Benjamin Pratt; stepchildren Garth Langrin, David Langrin, and Lisa (Johnson) Miller. / Darryl Jackson, Princess Jackson, and Corey Jackson. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will continue to honor and cherish his memory.
