Guillermo Almedina

Guillermo Almedina, age 72 of Derby, husband of Gloria Rodriguez, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Guillermo was born February 12, 1947 in Cayey, Puerto Rico; the beloved son of the late Gregorio Almedina & Bentura Martinez. Guillermo was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He was a hard worker and a provider for his family. Before his retirement, Guillermo worked for many years as a police officer in Puerto Rico. He will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing him. Guillermo was predeceased by his brother, Julio Almedina. In addition to Gloria, his wife of over 51 years, Guillermo is survived by; daughter, Marangelly Morales & son-in-law Angel Morales of Bridgeport; daughter, Gloria Almedina & son-in-law Jose R. Cotto of Puerto Rico; son, Jose G. Almedina & daughter-in-law Ivelisse Figueroa of Puerto Rico; daughter, Ordaliz Sandi & son-in-law Minor Sandi of Bridgeport; daughter, Alana Almedina & son-in-law Ricardo Diaz of Derby; brother, Gregorio Almedina; two sisters, Milagros Almedina, Vergin Almedina; twelve grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will honor his memory.
