Gregory Rafael Santos Frias

Gregory Rafael Santos Frias, age 23, of Waterbury, CT passed away on May 1, 2021 at Waterbury, CT. On January 27, 1998 Gregory was welcomed into the world by his beloved parents Rafael Santos Lorenzo and Juana Frias Santana in Dominican Republic. He was raised in Dominican Republic until he was five years old, when his family relocated to the United States. Gregory lived in New York City until he was 16 years old, relocating with his family to Waterbury, CT, until his murder on Saturday, May 1st, 2021. As a loving family, we were not prepared for the untimely, tragic death of our only son. He was a wonderful young man, full of life, funny, intelligent, talented, loyal, compassionate, and loving to anyone he came across. Gregory was able to brighten the room and fill your hearts with just his smile until he was stripped from his life as a result of gun violence. His life ended instantly at 23 years old, alone, to fulfill the gratification of those whose morals and ethics were not aligned with the man he was. Gregory was a loving son, an amazing brother, cousin, and uncle. He was loyal to a fault to his friends, which ultimately caused his demise. Gregory was a hard-working young man, obtaining his Commercial Driver's License, and devoting himself to being a long-distance driver. He was loved by all his friends and club members and will continue to be loved. He was great with children, loving his nephew like his own son, caring for his friend's children as if they were his, teaching them how to ride a bike, and spending time with them. His love and loyalty for all that loved him and still care for him will continue to live through us and his memory will prevail in each of us. Dear God, please take our son, the most precious gift you could bestow upon us, back once again as your Heavenly son. Keep him in your loving arms for eternity and give us comfort knowing that now he is up in Heavens' gates, Forever riding free. Gregory is predeceased by: grandfather Teofilo Frias Abreu; and his uncle Teofilo Frias Santana. He leaves behind his mother Juana Frias Santana; father Rafael Santos Lorenzo; stepfather Juan Antonia Chiu Chong; his two sisters, Lisbeth Santos & Lineth Santos, as well as his nephew Liam Martinez, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
