Gloristine "Tine" Ward Thomas

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gloristine "Tine" Thomas, age 77, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on November 19, 2024. Born on January 19, 1947, in Greenville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Lillian Ward and John Perkins.

Gloristine was raised in Greenville, NC, alongside her siblings Arthur, Bobby, Nellie, Jimmy, and Brenda, before relocating to Bridgeport, CT, at the age of 21. There, she became a beloved member of the community, known for her nurturing spirit and warm heart. Gloristine’s love for her family and her faith shone brightly in everything she did. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, always ready to offer a listening ear, a comforting word, or a home-cooked meal.

A woman of strong faith, Gloristine was actively involved in her church. Her love for cooking and serving others was a testament to her caring nature. Throughout her life she worked for several local businesses, including General Electric, Warner's Bra factory, The Bridgeport Manor, and The CT Post newspaper, where she touched many lives with her kindness and dedication.

She leaves behind her cherished children, Wanda, Glenda, and Walter, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Greg, Brothers Bobby and Arthur, sister Nellie, and both parents.

Gloristine's life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to be touched by her kindness.
