Eugenio Ayala Rivera

Eugenio A. Rivera, age 66 of Bridgeport, CT., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2020 after battling a long illness. Eugenio was born September 6, 1953 in Puerto Rico; the beloved son of Carmen (Rivera) Velazquez & the late Bernardo Velazquez Sr.. Eugenio was a kind hearted and hard working man. He was well known and liked by his community. Eugenio had a passion for all things automotive. He was an excellent mechanic, and had a vast collection of model cars. Eugenio will be missed deeply by all who knew him. Along with his father, Eugenio was predeceased by five siblings: David, Alberto, Edwardo, Bernardo Jr., and Robert Velazquez. In addition to his mother, Eugenio is survived by his: son, Eugenio Rivera Jr.; daughter, Rosa Rivera; son, Curt Birch & daughter-in-law Shelby Jo Birch; daughter, Nikol (Birch) Campana & son-in-law Wandel Campana; five brothers, Johnny J., Danny, George, Julio, and Anderson Velazquez; two sisters, Miriam and Lillian Velazquez; several grandchildren, nieces & nephews; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
