Eufemia "Beba" Martinez, 87, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at her residence in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Born on March 6, 1939, in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, Eufemia was the beloved daughter of the late Eufemio Cortez and Marciana Avila. She was one of six children and shared a lifelong bond with her siblings: Santo Domingo Cortez Avila, Jesus Cortes Avila, Maria Cortes Avila, Sixto Cortes Avila, and Calixto Cortes Avila.

Eufemia was the devoted wife of Ramon Martinez. Affectionately known as "Beba," she was a vibrant, caring, and nurturing woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to joke and laugh, and found her greatest joy in spending time surrounded by her family.

Beba especially loved gathering with family to play dominoes, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. One of the many ways she expressed her love was through her cooking, always preparing meals that brought everyone together around the table. Her generous heart, welcoming spirit, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered.

Eufemia is predeceased by her parents, four siblings; Santo Domingo Cortez Avila, Jesus Cortes Avila, Maria Cortes Avila, Sixto Cortes Avila and her loving spouse; Ramon Martinez,

She leaves behind her three loving children, Erisbel Martinez, Elba Rivera, and Ramon Antonio Martinez, her sibling Calixto Cortes, along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Eufemia's life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut.
