Ernesto R. Torres, affectionately known as Torres, age 89, of Bridgeport, the widower of Ofelia Medina Torres entered eternal rest on July 13, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut with his loving family by his side. Ernesto was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on April 2, 1931, son of the late Miguel Torres & Santa Ramos Torres. Ernesto was part of an apostolic movement of the Santo Nombre of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church known as a Cursillo. With his firm beliefs, he raised three children with his beloved wife of 45 years to Ofelia Medina Torres. Ernesto had a kind, loving and generous heart. He worked many years as a machine operator and helped anyone in need of home improvement projects. In his past-time he loved to garden and enjoyed a good game of baseball, he was a San Francisco Giant fan. Ernesto was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ernesto is now in Heaven with his parents, and his other siblings: Esteban, Tomas, Martin, Geraldo, Antonio, Francisco, Valentine, Adela Gonzalez, and Juana Martinez. Ernesto will be lovingly missed and remembered by: daughters, Olga Iris Rodriguez & son-in-law Maysonet Rodriguez of Bayamon, PR; Carmen Luz Rivera of Bridgeport, Arleen Rodriguez & son-in-law Eulalio Rodriguez of California, Leticia & son-in-law Darryl Belton of Bridgeport; sons, Ernesto & daughter-in-law Connie Torres of California, Jorge & daughter-in-law Evelyn Torres of Florida, Ernesto J. & daughter-in-law Esmeralda Torres of Texas, Robert & daughter-in-law Danielle Torres of Derby, David & daughter-in-law Cheryl Torres of Seymour, CT; siblings, Carmen Carrasquillo-Cruz, Rosa Fernandez, Alberto Torres, Enrique Torres, Miguel Torres, Antonio Torres, Francisco Torres, Valentine Torres, Adela Gonzalez, Juana Martinez; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews extended family and friends where his memory will live on forever.
