Epifania "Fanny" Ruiz, age 77 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Ludlowe Center for Health, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Epifania was born April 13, 1941 in Yauco, Puerto Rico; the beloved daughter of the late Inocensio Mendez & Juana LaBoy. Fanny, as she was affectionately known, was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She had a passion for cooking and baking. Fanny took pride in making meals for her family; especially during the holidays. She was incredibly optimistic and always had a smile on her face. Fanny was happiest while spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed deeply. In addition to her parents, Fanny was predeceased by her: two brothers, Eustenio & Ramon Mendez; and three sisters; Heroina, Margarita, & Maria Mendez. Fanny is survived by her: son, Ismael Ruiz of Bridgeport; four daughters, Maria Baez of Stratford, Carmen Ruiz of Bridgeport, Nancy Ruiz & son-in-law Ramon Martinez of Bridgeport, Elizabeth Ruiz of Bridgeport; ten grandchildren, Jose Rivera, Richard Rivera, Maria Miro, Myra Miro, Anier Ruiz, Diaris Ruiz, Anthony Martinez, Ariel Martinez, Richardo Alejandro Castro, Sharahazod Lebron; twelve great-grandchildren, Natasha Rivera, Josiah Concepcion, Janiah Martinez, Soriah White, Kayana Andujar, Richard Rivera Jr., Jayden Rivera, Jayden Carddone, Eduardo Acevedo, Rosalie Martinez, Mais Martinez, Derrick Langston; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
