Elvira Eulalia Daguerre Md

Dr. Elvira Daguerre Rodriguez, age 88, entered into peaceful rest Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Cuba on Monday, December 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Pascual Daguerre and Maria Rodriguez. Became a dentist at the University of La Habana, in Cuba, 1952. She immigrated to the United States in 1969 and in 1970 she established herself in Bridgeport, CT to complete the revalidation of her degree in NYU. In 1974, she becomes in one of the first foreign dentists that worked in the state of New York. She leaves behind her niece Carmen Maria Goiricelaya, her political nephew Alex Djuro, her very loved grandnephews Alex Miguel Djuro Goiricelaya, Daniel Djuro Goiricelaya, Juan Manuel Djuro Goiricelaya, their wives Karla Medrano and Ann Margaret Palmer and her great grandniece and grandnephew Victoria Djuro Medrano and Alexei Djuro Medrano, in addition to many friends and fellow Cubans from the Cuban Lyceum of Bridgeport, who in addition to her patients remember her with love. Lover of traveling and photography, Elvira Daguerre Rodriguez was an inspiration for many, and will be remembered by all for her energy, strength, determination and great generosity to those in need. Thank you for giving us and teaching us so much throughout our wonderful years together. You will always be in our hearts.
