Elizabeth Ann 'Liz' Munford-Matthews

Elizabeth Ann Munford-Matthews, age 65, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, answered the call to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport. Elizabeth affectionately known as "Liz" was born to the late Harry J. Munford and Gladys Williams-Munford on February 17, 1956 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She attended the Bridgeport Public School System where she graduated from Warren Harding High School and also The University of Bridgeport. Liz utilized her degree and became a teacher in the Bridgeport School System as The Lighthouse Program for many years. She loved children, her babies as she would call them. Liz was a mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and a friend to many. She loved family. Liz is predeceased by her: parents Harry J. Munford and Gladys Williams-Munford; brother David Williams; son David (Tavon) Munford; grandsons Shaahyid Matthews and Laquan Dawson. She leaves to cherish her memory her: husband Torrance Matthews of FL; son Richard (Troy) Whitaker (Miriam); sister Audrey (Napoleon) Jenkins of Pelzer, SC; brother Gregory Lawrence of Birmingham, AL; 10 grandchildren: Richard (Jessica) Whitaker, Desiree Silas, Kia (Marquis) Green, Juquaahn Matthews, Alviaanhn Williams, Randy Francis and Robert Dawson Jr; 14 great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends.
