Edwin Daniel 'Dog' Colon

Colon: Edwin Colon, age 48, of, Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 20th, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Edwin was born Sunday, October 18th, 1964 in Puerto Rico, the second oldest of eight children born to Ms. Carmen Leon. Edwin, known to his friends as "Dog", came to Bridgeport as a young boy when his family relocated. For many years he worked as a painter in and around the Bridgeport area but his true calling lay in helping others, friend and family alike. Generous of spirit, strong of heart, funny and charming, Dog touched the lives of all around him whether he was helping a friend out with a home project or cooking for his family, his presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Edwin is survived by his loving daughters, Jazmarie and Maria Colon of Bridgeport; his beloved siblings; Juan Colon, Jose Leon, Anel Leon and Cindy DeJesus, all of Bridgeport; his long term companion, Amelia Gomez and six adoring grandchildren in whose bright smiles and joyous laughter Edwin will always live on. Additionally, Dog leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will always treasure his memory. In death Edwin is reunited with his mother, Carmen, and with his previously deceased siblings.
