Edwin Collazo Rosa, lovingly known as "Lefty," passed away peacefully at his home in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on July 21, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Edwin was the cherished son of Nery Colon and Miguel Angel Collazo Torres. He grew up in Puerto Rico before relocating to New York at a young age.
Edwin was a man who valued actions over words, demonstrating his honesty and integrity throughout his life. He was a humble soul, whose generosity knew no bounds. His belief in the power of love and kindness shone through in his daily actions, whether it was sharing a warm meal with someone in need, offering thoughtful advice to a friend, or providing unwavering support to his family.
He walked through life with quiet dignity, always putting others before himself. His love was a beacon, guiding and uplifting those around him. Edwin's pride in his children and adoration for his grandchildren were evident to all who knew him. He especially loved his work as a carpenter, and his ability to fix anything was legendary. His passions also included music and cooking.
Edwin is survived by his parents, Nery Colon and Miguel Angel Collazo Torres; his seven siblings: Nilsa Rodriguez, Harry Rodriguez, Daniel Junior Rodriguez, Manuel Rivera, Myriam Colón, Yvonne Vega, Xiomara Vega. He leaves behind his ten children: Edwin Collazo, Sylvia Victoria Collazo, Erica Collazo, Maggie Collazo, Alyssa Nilsa Collazo,
