Edward Dewitt Hatton

Edward Dewitt Hatton, age 71, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 17th, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital. Edward was commonly referred to as Dewitt, as a young man. He served our country in the US Army, later worked for the Greenwich Public School System. Edward was a devoted husband and provider for thirty-three years to his beloved wife Charmaine Hatton. Edward was a sharp dresser that enjoyed listening to music and driving his Cadillac, but most of all loved spending time with his children. Dewitt was born August 5, 1941 in Bridgeport. Son of the late Marjorie Frazier & James Hatton, he was the fifth of seven siblings. Edward is survived by: wife Charmaine Hatton of Stamford, four children from eldest to youngest, son Chris & daughter-in-law Sedell of Ansonia, daughter Tanya Dixon of NC., sons Edward Hatton Jr., Marlan Hatton, sisters Gladys Ebron, Betti Jackson, brothers Edwin D. Hatton, Cleave E. Hatton all of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren, Keenen Hatton, LaQuan Dixon, Chrishe, Nasser Hatton, Sana Dixon, Sedea, Maliah Hatton and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish his precious memories. Friends may greet the family Thursday, August 23rd, 2012 at 10:00am to 12:00am. A Home Going Service will proceed from 12:00am to 1:00 pm in Mount Arey Baptist Church, 73 Frank St., Bridgeport, CT 06604. Interment will be held privately.
