Eddie Alberto 'Mafia' Ortiz

Eddie Alberto Ortiz, age 60 of Bridgeport, CT entered into the peaceful rest with our Lord on November 19th 2016 at Northbridge Healthcare Center Bridgeport, CT. Eddie was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on June 8th 1956. The son of the late World War II Veteran Alberto Ortiz Torres and the late Carmen T. Ortiz. Besides his parents Eddie was predeceased by his brother Nelson A. Ortiz. Eddie relocated to Bridgeport, CT when he was just 19 years old. Eddie was a graduate of Culinary Arts, he worked as a Cablevision tech for many years, and a master blue print reader. Later he became a self-employed contractor and was skilled in the roofing, aluminum siding and masonry. Eddie was kind and generous, helpful, with a great sense of humor. He loved to sing and spend time with his family. He is survived by: loving companion of 11 years, Maribel Thipharazksa; son, Eddie & daughter-in-law Jennifer Trapani; daughter, Veronica Ortiz & son-in-law Christopher Rodgers; daughter, Itsiar Candelaria & son-in-law Erik Rios; sons, Edison Ortiz, Alberto Ortiz; step daughter, Julissa Thipharazksa; siblings, Maritza Torres, Lucy & brother-in-law Gerardo Moran, Alexis & sister-in-lawTeresa Ortiz, Nancy Ortiz, Wendelyn Narvaez, Officer Gerardo & sister-in-law Margarita Ortiz, Mariela & brother-in-law Christopher Thomas, Carmen & brother-in-law James F. Mylen, Sr.; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Zoey, Catherine, Emma, Ryan, Katherine, Brianna and one great-grandson, Joseph Jr. and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish his memory.
