Dorothy Willis

Dorothy Eunice Willis, age 74, of Bridgeport, CT passed peacefully on September 18, 2020. On August 24, 1946 Dorothy was brought into the world to the loving arms of her beloved parents Boswell Morris and Clarista Bailey. She came from a large family and was raised by Ms. Muriel Harris. Dorothy had eight sisters and three brothers. She grew up in Martin, St Mary, Jamaica and attended the Martin Primary school. It was there that she met some of her lifelong friends and where the seed was planted for her career in teaching. Since those early childhood years Dorothy was a smart and witty person. After completing Martin primary, she went on to attend Mary Mount High and the Moneague Teacher's College. During her college studies she worked at Salem Basic School and the Albany post office. Upon the completion of her college education, she worked at Port Maria primary school until she migrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1985. She had two children Craig Scott and Ronjel Willis. Dorothy was married to Wellesley Willis and had numerous stepchildren. In 1990 she moved with her family to Bridgeport, Connecticut. While living in Connecticut, Mrs. Willis worked as a health professional while still teaching. Friends, Family, and students remember her as a quiet and neat woman with a witty personality. She was a kind and loving woman and will be deeply missed. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Boswell Morris and Clarista Bailey; adoptive mother Ms. Muriel Harris two of her siblings and her husband Wellesley Willis. Dorothy is survived by her two children Craig and Ronjel; five grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends that will forever cherish her memory. Dorothy Eunice Willis was a woman of strong Christian faith and did her best to live her life as an example to others.
