Dionisia 'Liony' Mercer

Dionisia "Liony" Mercer, age 59, of Bridgeport, devoted spouse of twenty-nine years John Mercer, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 25th 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Dionisia was a very happy and loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an Elvis fan that enjoyed music, dancing and playing domino's. She was a little lady with a big heart. She never let her health issues stop her from living her life to the fullest. Dionisia was born Wednesday, September 5, 1956 in Camuy, PR. She was beloved daughter of late Mr. Ramon & Mrs. Enriqueta Arbelo. Dionisia is also predeceased by: son, Angel Vargas; sister, Juana Velez; two brothers, Confesor Nieves and Domingo Nieves. Dionisia is survived by: spouse, John Mercer; son, Jose Vargas; brother, Otilio Nieves; five sisters, Gloria Serrano, Carmen Lebron, Theresa Ramos, Luz Ruemmele, Anna Santiago; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish her memory.
