Desarie Gonzalez

Desarie “Dez” Gonzalez, age 53, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in the Bronx, New York, and was raised in the North End, Trumbull Avenue area of Bridgeport, Connecticut.Desarie was truly one of a kind. 

She was incredibly smart, outgoing, outspoken, tough, strong, loving, caring, stubborn, and headstrong. She had a wild and funny spirit that could light up any room. Desaire was never afraid to speak her mind and always stayed true to herself. She had a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a way of making people remember her. Dez loved networking and connecting with people. She enjoyed singing and dancing and, most of all, treasured spending time with her children and granddaughters. Her family was incredibly important to her. She also had a deep love for the church and her faith.Desarie was a devoted mother to her three children, Aja, Bre'yona, and Caj'mere, and a loving grandmother to her three granddaughters, Jy'Aja, Paris, and Josiegh. 

She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her siblings Delia, Checha, and Tanya, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and countless others whose lives she touched.Desarie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her laughter, strength, outspoken nature, humor, and loving heart will remain in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on through her family and friends.Desarie was predeceased by her grandmother, Delia Ortiz; her parents, Jane Vasquez and Luis Emanuel Gonzalez; her aunt, Doris Walker; and her uncle, Rolando Vazquez.Services for Desarie will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
