Derry 'Weezie' Copeland

Derry "Weezie" Copeland Derry "Weezie" Copeland, age 54, of Bridgeport Connecticut, was called home by the almighty God on Thursday, July 29th, 2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Derry was born on April 23rd, 1956 in Marion County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Rev. Willie and Josephine Copeland. She was the second of eight siblings. Derry was a very active member of the church in Connecticut and South Carolina parishes. She adored and loved the Lord. Derry earned several public educational acknowledgements from the Bridgeport school system. She graduated from Bassick High School and worked in the City of Bridgeport and State of Conecticut Construction sites for several years. Derry was well known all over the United States as the women willing to assist you with whatever you need. Derry is survived by her loving companion Wesley Goodwin (Lyle) of Bridgeport, CT., two sons; Mr. Jermaine Robinson of Kingston Fla., Mr. Jerry Robinson of Bridgeport. Surviving siblings; Vassie Leonard & late husband Charlie Leonard of Nichols, S.C., Willie Lee Hines (Tina) of Nichols S.C., Michael Copeland, of Dillon SC; Linda & James Gilchrist of Willington S.C.; Ms. Wanda Gore of Florence S.C.; Willie King Jr. & Annette Copeland of West Haven, CT.; Michelle Copeland of Derby CT.; Frankie Lane Davis of Willington, N.C.; Grandchildren; Jerrshawn Robinson, Tatiana Robinson, Jayden Danielecki expecting Enoch Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews. Friends may greet the family Thursday, August 5th, 2010 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave, BPT. The second viewing held at Bridgeport Tabernacle SDA Church, Thursday, August 5th, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm; Funeral service will proceed at 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Bridgeport Tabernacle Seven Day Adventist Church, 717, Clinton Ave, BPT., under the supervision of Pastor Alphod Sinclair.
