David George Platt Jr., age 50, of Bristol, CT passed away on May 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by service, creativity, and an exceptionally giving heart.
Born on August 28, 1975, David lived a life focused on helping others. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, carrying the values of dedication and integrity with him throughout his entire life.
Following his military service, David channeled his brilliant mind and passion for technology into higher education, serving as a dedicated college professor. He found immense joy in mentoring his students, always going above and beyond to help them master computer work and navigate their academic journeys. Beyond the classroom, David was a gifted cartoon illustrator. His artwork was a reflection of his vibrant imagination and his unique ability to bring joy, humor, and light to the world around him. To know David was to know a man of pure generosity; his kind spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
David was reunited in peace with his beloved mother and father, who preceded him in death.
His legacy of love lives on through his cherished children, his daughter Zoe Platt of Texas, and his son Antwone Flowers of North Dakota. He is survived by his loving stepmother, Colleen Shea of Vero Beach, Florida; and his three devoted brothers, Chris Platt of Port Charlotte, Florida, Tony DeCarlo of New Haven, Connecticut, and Gary Shea of Amherst, New Hampshire. He also leaves behind a host of extended family, colleagues, former students, and close friends who will miss him dearly.
