David Andrew "Red" Duberry was unexpectedly called into the arms of the Lord on Monday July 13, 2020. Born Saturday June 20, 1964 at Park City Hospital in Bridgeport to Elouise and the Late Andrew Duberry. Red, as he was lovingly known was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams the Golden State Warriors and New York Yankees however none were in comparison to his beloved Dallas Cowboys. David was a graduate of Harding High School class of 1983. Following his retirement from Housatonic Community College after 23 years as maintenance manager, David became Vice President of the Seaview Gardens Board of Directors. Red was a God-fearing man and was all about the kids, dedicating his free time to the children of the community. Over the years, David became known as the "lollipop" or "ice" man and would regularly feed the homeless, donate to programs for inner city youth services in addition to providing annual back to school backpacks for the children in his community. Red will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Saida Duberry, 3 children- Devon David Duberry, Shaneika Janay Duberry and Qwanisha Chantele Duberry, 2 step-children- Tiffany Monique McPhatter and Ashley Catherine McPhatter, his grandchildren- Devonte Duberry, Layla Marie Jefferson, Aaliyah Duberry and Nathalia Duberry, his siblings- Jonathan Duberry (Mary), Elijah Duberry, Barnabas Duberry (Keisha) and Tina Duberry. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July, 21st 2020 from 10:00AM to 12:00AM followed by A Home Going Service from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06604.
