ORTIZ: Celia Ortiz, age 83, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 at Astoria Park Health Care in Bridgeport, CT. Celia was born Sunday, January 12th, 1930 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico the beloved daughter of Ines Roldan and Eduardo Figueroa. Celia moved to Bridgeport at age 17, a strong, independent woman she singlehandedly raised her daughter, Diana, while working for many years as a teacher's aide in the public school system. Sweet and generous, Celia was a lady through and through her gentle presence will be missed by all who knew her. Celia is survived by her beloved and adoring daughter, Diana Ortiz; brothers, Modesto and Joacqin Figueroa and sister, Paulina Figueroa. In death Celia is reunited with her parents, Ines and Eduardo, and her previously deceased sisters, Altagracia Perez and Basilica Cardern.
