Castulo Lopez, age 87, entered eternal rest on May 13, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was born on June 30, 1936, to the late El Delmiro and Filomima Lopez in Comerio, Puerto Rico.
Castulo was educated in Puerto Rico before relocating to Connecticut in 1955 at the age of 19. He worked in a fencing factory for many years, known for his strength and role as a father figure to many. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Castulo had a passion for boxing and baseball, and in his early years, he coached both sports. A devoted fan of the Yankees, he also enjoyed collecting coins and fishing. Castulo’s love and warmth touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Besides Castulo parents he was predeceased by: spouse, Virginia Acevedo Lopez; Children, Irene Lopez, Carlos Luis DeCampos; siblings, Padro Lopez, Johnnie Lopez, Carmelo Lopez, Jimmie Lopez, Luis Lopez, Carmen Lopez, Eddy Lopez and Dominga Lopez.
Castulo is survived by: partner, Nilsa Diaz; siblings, Antonia Lopez brother-in-law Manuel Rivera, Papo Lopez, Antonio Lopez sons, Carlos Manuel DeCampos, Herman Lopez, Jessie Lopez, Antonio Lopez; stepsons, Orlando Diaz, Oscar Cartagena, Henry Cartagena, Ricardo Cartagena; grandchildren, Jessie Scott, Jason Scott, Tessie Lopez, Shameka Lopez, Rakeema Lopez, Rashaud Lopez, Kareem Wright, Juan Falcon, Tiffany Falcon, Carlos DeCampos, Irene DeCampos, Herman DeCampos, Gage DeCampos, Cherish Ramos, Manny DeCampos, Angie DeCampos, Michael DeCampos, Jessica DeCampos, Irene Lopez, Ashley Lopez, Janea Lopez, Jalani Lopez, Cherish Lopez, Antonio Lopez, Tony Lopez; and a host of great-grandchildren nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Castulo’s legacy of love, strength, and dedication to his family will be cherished forever. His spirit lives on through the many lives he has touched.
