Carmen Escribano Santiago De Santos

Carmen Santos, age 88, of Bridgeport, entered heavenly rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital. Carmen was born on May 9, 1936, in Comerío, Puerto Rico, the beloved daughter of the late Juan Escribano Hernández and María Santiago Colón.

Raised with three sisters, Carmen was very proud of her Puerto Rican roots. She was a loving and friendly woman with a big heart, known for her immaculate home and her delicious Puerto Rican cooking. Carmen was devoted to her family.

A mother of twelve, Carmen relocated to Connecticut at the age of 50. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Santos Santos, her three sons José Luis, José Antonio, and Jesus Manuel Santos, and one grandchild, Zimael Cintrón.

Carmen is survived by nine children: Miguel, Iris, Ediberto, Marybel, Roberto, Judith, Carlos, María, and Julio Santos. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her three sisters: María, Sarah, and Ana Escribano, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish her memory.
