Carmen Rivera

Carmen Rivera, age 86, of Bridgeport, CT; the widow of Eladio Rivera Sr. passed into peaceful rest on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Carmen was welcome into the world by her beloved parents Isadoro Rivera and Aurelia Hernandez in Moca, Puerto Rico. Carmen was raised in the Catholic and maintain her faith throughout her life. She met her soulmate Eladio Rivera Sr. in Puerto Rico and shortly after they migrated to Bridgeport, CT. Their union of 54 years was fruitful together they were blessed with 7 children. Carmen was a kind and loving mother. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and providing for her family, Carmen worked in Remington Shavers for many years. Her true passion was music she wrote songs, poems sang and danced. Carmen was a beautiful loving daughter, wife, mother, cousin and friend with a heart of gold. Carmen is predeceased by: parents, Isadoro Rivera & Aurelia Hernandez; husband, Eladio Rivera Sr; son, Nelson Rivera; siblings, Ramona Hernandez, Alejandro Rivera, Francisco Rivera, Jovita Villanueva and Ismael Rivera. She is survived by: sons, Larry Rivera, Edwin Rivera (Melida), Jimmy Rivera, Eladio Rivera Jr.(Eunice), David Rivera (Judy) and Linda Rosa Rivera; siblings Luis Rivera, Angelo Rivera and Lucy Rodriguez; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
