Mr. Bobby Melvin Brawley (Bob), 85, of Stamford, departed this Earthly Life on Sunday, October 25, 2022. Arrangements by Community Funeral Chapels. His service will be held on Friday November 11, 2022; Viewing 11:00am to 12:00pm, Service to follow 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Community Funeral Chapels, Bridgeport, CT. Bobby was born on September 1, 1937, in Concord, NC one of nine children born to the late Roy Brawley Sr and Cora Carr. He grew up in Huntersville, NC until he relocated to Stamford, CT where he was a truck driver for many years.Bobby was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.One of his favorite pastimes was watching Baseball. He was a Dogers and Yankees fan! He also loved joking. Mr. Brawley was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Decorated Officer Jarah Matthews-Dixon, his siblings, Roy Jr, Clyde, Roosevelt, Robert, Mabel, Bernice and Claudine; mother-in-Law, Irene Bennett; some brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: wife, Margaret Brawley; daughters, Beatrice Dixon and Valerie Beckham; sons, Jerome Dixon, Kelvin "PeeWee" Brawley, and Melvin "Chubby" Brawley; twin brother, Billy Brawley (Hazel) of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren whom He loved dearly; a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dedicated friends.
