Belinda Darnell Haygood

Belinda Darnell Haygood, age 61 of Norwalk, entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Belinda was born March 23, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the beloved daughter of Stella Haygood and the late Harrison Haygood Sr. Belinda was a loving and dedicated mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had an infectious laugh, outgoing and bubbly personality, and loved helping others. She worked for 40 years as a cardiology technician for Stamford Hospital. Belinda was the happiest when spending time with her family. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, traveling, and cooking. Belinda was well known for her shrimp and pasta dish. She will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing her. Besides her mother, Belinda is survived by her daughter, Amber Haygood (Lenny) of Norwalk; son, Aaron McKeithan of Norwalk; three brothers, Harrison Haygood Jr. (Jackie) of Norwalk; John Haygood of Pittsburg, PA.; James Haygood of Norwalk; two sisters, Rosetta Phillips of Redford, MI.; Mildred Harrod (Thomas) of Norwalk; granddaughter, Lenni Marie Abraham; two God sons, Wesley and Corey Phillips of Detroit, MI; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory. #BelindaStrong Interment will be held privately.
