Asuncion Esmerida 'Mimin' Santiago

Asuncion E. Santiago, age 72, of Bridgeport, passed into peaceful rest Friday, 22, 2020 at her home. On June 1, 1947 in Isabela, Puerto Rico, Ramon E. Santiago & Carmen M. Carabal was blessed with a loving daughter, Asuncion Esmerida Santiago affectionately known as Mimin. She was raised in Calle Abajo, Camuy, PR. a farmland. Asuncion had a green thumb for plants, crops and livestock later she acquired a collection of roosters. Mimin migrated to Connecticut on August in 1978. She accepted Christ at a young age and it was her way of life. A strict mother of seven that always gave the best advice and intentions for her family and friends alike. Asuncion help with the soup kitchen. She enjoyed to socialize and be helpful with a kind and tender smile. Mimin is survived by: daughter, Iris L. Acevedo of Bridgeport, CT; son Rafael A. Ruiz of Bridgeport, CT; daughter, Marilyn Ruiz of Bridgeport, CT; son, Ramon Santiago of Bridgeport, CT; son, Cruz Dumeng; son Santo Vargas (Jennifer) of Naugatuck, CT; daughter, Maranyeli Vargas of Bridgeport, CT; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish Mimins' memory.
