Antonio "Toño" Rodriguez Velazquez passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Bridgeport, CT on Feb 17, 2024, at the age of 84.
Antonio was born on May 10, 1939 to the late Juan Maria Rodriguez and Maria Salome Velazquez and was raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 57 years Carmen Lydia, together they raised two children. He cared for his family until his final moments.
Antonio served his country in the army and was stationed in Korea. He was a skilled electrician, worked for the government and managed his own restaurant.
Antonio enjoyed cooking on the grill with friends and family, good food, music, laughter and watching the Mets. He enjoyed playing the guitar and the Puerto Rican cuatro, poetry, writing and offering life advice to his children and grandchildren.
Antonio is survived by his wife Carmen Lydia, his son Anthony Rodriguez (Rosalind) his daughter Danisa Sala (Carlos) and his loving grandchildren Etien Rodriguez , Laura Sala and Siara Sala.
