Antonio 'Tony' Marcano

Antonio Marcano, aged 68, passed into peaceful rest at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, on March 4, 2023. Born to Juan and Maria (Colon) Marcano in Salem, New Jersey on December 10, 1954, Antonio was one of seven children. He and his family moved to Bridgeport when he was 9. Affectionately known as "Muskrat", Tony was a man of God. He was a hardworking man his whole life, from the age of nine as a tomato picker in Jersey to the time he retired as a truck driver, even into the weeks before he got sick. He was kind, respectful helpful person and was loved by all who knew him, At City Wide Church where he had many friends, he was also known as "The Candy Man." He would come with a smile and a bag of candy for all to enjoy. Antonio loved going to seaside and talking on his CB Radio to everyone all over the world. He loved to hit the open road on his motorcycle and drive. But for as much as an adventurer he was, he had a deep love for home. He would often visit the home of his lifelong best friend, JoAnn Carpenter, and bring treats for her dogs Dora, Ms. Beasley, and Reese's and after a long day, would nap with them on the couch. Antonio is predeceased by his parents, Juan Marcano and Maria Marcano; his sister, Gladis; his brother, Leo; his sons, Vernon and Juan; his daughter, Joy and his step-son Sean. He is survived by his son Tony; his step-children, Sioban, Kelly, Kyle, and Shane; his siblings Nidia, Elaina, Eve, Isaac Sr., Norman, and Hector; his grandchildren: Faith and Caliegh, daughters of Sioban Carpenter; Zyan, Trinity, and Destiny, daughters of Michael and Kelly La Chapelle; his favorite niece Melinda Marcano and nephew Isaac Marcano Jr., his best friend Mr. Calup, his dear friend JoAnn Carpenter, and many other dear friends who will miss him dearly and continue to honor his memory. Friends may greet the family Monday, April 3, 2023 at 7:00pm for a memorial service at City Wide Church 857 Howard Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06605. Interment will be held privately.
