In Loving Memory of Annie Mae Alston
Annie Mae Alston, a devout and God-fearing woman, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 29th,2023 leaving behind a legacy of love and light. Born in Clinton, North Carolina, on May 28th,1945, was the cherished daughter of Susie Mae Bright and Jessie James Williams.
Annie is survived by her loving sisters, Gwen and Carol, who will continue to share their sisterly bond and keep her memory alive. She is reunited with her her sister Agnus, and brother, Jesse.
Annie is survived by her children, Cynthia, Lisa, Joseph, Mathew, Felicia, Tammy, and Patrick, who will carry on her memory with fondness and admiration. In addition to her beloved children who survive her, she was also predeceased by her dear children, Iisha, Larry, Lisa, and Michael. Though they have gone before her, their memory and the love she had for them remain eternally cherished in her heart and the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Together, they find peace in the embrace of eternity. Annie was a beloved grandmother to Iceis, Leslie, JoAnne, Mark, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she held close to her heart.
A member of Messiah Baptist Church and The Eastern Star, her faith was a guiding force in her life. She found purpose in her retirement as a Foster Grandparent for the Bridgeport schools, where she selflessly taught reading, writing, and provided unwavering emotional support to countless young hearts in the classroom. Annie's light touched the lives of friends and family alike, earning her a special place in their hearts. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to shine brightly through those she touched.
Annie is now reunited with her beloved husband Earl, her sister, brother, and the children who preceded her in passing. She rests peacefully in the loving embrace of the Lord, and for that, we celebrate her eternal peace and joy. Though Annie may no longer be with us in person, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort to those who were fortunate to share in her life. May her soul find eternal rest, and may her legacy of love and light continue to illuminate our lives. Annie will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
