Ana Maria Lebron

Ana Maria Lebron, age 98, of Fairfield, CT, has gone into eternal rest on Wednesday September 9th, 2020 in her home. On May 20th, 1922 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Ana Maria was welcomed into the world by her loving parents Juana Torres Ortiz and Julio Alicea. Ana was raised catholic faith and often recited prayers throughout her life. From a young age, Ana served as a nurses' aide in the emergency room of her hometown. At age 19 Ana married a solider, Eulogio Castro Diaz in the Catholic Church. After a couple of years, they were blessed with a daughter, Maria Castro Diorio. When Ana's first marriage came to an end, she made a life changing decision to migrate to New York in 1944 as a single parent. Determined Ana worked hard as a seamstress to provide for her family. One day through a mutual friend she met Jose R. Lebron they fell in love and were married in 1949. Together they had two children Mary Lebron and Jose R. Lebron. Ana was a loving mother of three, grandmother of six, great grandmother of eight, a loving aunt, cousin, and friend. Ana Maria was a devout member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She loved children, so much so that she helped raise her grandchildren. Ana Maria loved cooking, gardening, and embroidering. She had a giving and kind soul. Ana is predeceased by both of her parents Julio Alicea and Juana Torres both of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico; her son Jose R. Lebron; sisters, Doris Laboy, Edna Iris Torres; brother, Ramon Torres and son-in-law John J. Diorio. Ana Maria leaves behind her daughters Maria Diorio of Fairfield and Mary Lebron of Maryland; her siblings Olga Torres of Nebraska and Andres Torres of Puerto Rico; her grandchildren Mark Ferraro of Virginia, Desire Lebron of Puerto Rico, Myda Cannanza of Maryland, Alexander Diorio of Massachusetts, Christopher Lebron of Florida, and Matthew Lebron of Florida; as well as eight great grandchildren. Ana is also survived by a host of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply and forever cherish her memories.
