Ana Gomez, age 85, of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the widow of Angel Salvador Barias Calderon, passed into peaceful rest in Seymour, CT with her loving family by her side. On July 26, 1934 in Altamira, Dominican Republic Encarnacion Mejia & Ysabel Gomez were blessed with a kind and gentle daughter, Ana Gomez. From Altamira, she attended school in Santiago De Los Caballeros, DR. Ana graduated as an RN. She then relocated to Santo Domingo for work and was all so giving to her patients. Her career came to an end when she met and married her love, Angel Salvador Barias originally from Ocoa, DR. He did not allow her to work she instead she became a dedicated housewife and mother of four. Their union lasted for 45 year upon death due them apart. Ana was raised in the Christian faith and was always grateful to God. Ana enjoyed helping others. Besides her parents and spouse Ana was predeceased by her son, Pablo Gomez of Santo Domingo, DR. and sister, Ramona Gomez of Santiago, DR. Ana is survived by: daughter, Ana Barias & son-in-law Delis Mendez of Seymour, CT; son, Salvador Barias of Seymour, CT; Ario & daughter-in-law Jennie Cruz of UK; sister, Maria Gomez of Altamira, DR; brother, Bellido Gomez of Bronx, NY; brother, Manuel Gomez of Altamira, DR; brother, Julio Gomez of Santo Domingo, DR; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends the will cherish her memory. A graveside service and interment will be held Friday, May 29th 2020 at 10:00am at Mountain Grove Cemetery on Harvester Rd. Easton, CT.
