Alberto Torres, 95, of Bridgeport CT was called to the heavenly realms on November 11, 2021 in Bridgeport CT. Alberto was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to parents, Santos Ramos and Miguel Torres, whom he adored. He was a resident of Bridgeport for over 65 years. Alberto was the patriarch of the Torres family and many frequently sought his wisdom. He will always be remembered as the man whose priority was the family and keeping it united in the best of times and the difficult times. His charismatic and caring personality left a lasting impression with the people he met. At the doctor's office he was greeted with a hug and even at the grocery store, people would ask for his "Bendicin" and shake his hand. Alberto had a gift of sharing his life experiences. He helped pave the path for his family and friends to explore different opportunities. He expressed his journey vividly with so much emotion that many were enthralled and loved to listen. Alberto was a pioneer in the early 1950s Catholic movement in Bridgeport for the Hispanic population. It started in a small chapel at Nuestra Senora de la Providencia. When its population grew, they moved to St. Anthony of Padua and most currently St. Peters. Alberto worked tirelessly in different roles within these parishes, he was highly respected and was always loyal to God and his church. Alberto worked for 35 years at J.L. Lucas Machinery in Fairfield, CT. He was sought after for his expertise of building and repairing heavy, intricate machinery. This allowed him to travel to different parts of the country. Alberto is survived by his wife, Carmen Maria Torres; his daughters, Evelyn Colon (Ramon), Miriam Garcia (Juan Ramon), Elssa Torres (late Angel Valle Jr.). 13 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Two loving sisters, Carmen Carrasquillo and Rosa Fernandez. Two brothers, Miguel Torres and Enrique Torres. He was predeased by wife, Catalina Torres; children, Margarita Colon, Miguel Angel Torres, William Torres and Noelia Oquendo; grandson Angel Valle III. He lived a full, meaningful life and will forever be in our hearts.
