Alberto 'Berto' Rodriguez Jr.

Alberto "Berto" Rodriguez Jr. of Bridgeport, CT gained his angel wings on May 7, 2022. He was born in the Bronx, NY on October 2, 1973. He was raised in Queens and at the age of 17 he relocated to Bpt., CT with family. Berto's creativity and many skills were admirable such as carpentry, painting, landscaping, home repairs and remodeling. He worked hard in the construction industry to provide for his only daughter Leah. He was kind-hearted, generous, and always willing to lend a hand to friends or family who needed him. He never missed a family function and he often took charge of the grill. He was known for his healthy appetite and great sense of humor. He is described by his loved ones as funny, loving, and genuine. He most enjoyed spending time with his daughter and his granddaughter. His interests were fishing, shopping, trying new restaurants, watching Yankees games, playing basketball, and helping family and friends with projects. Berto is survived by his mother, Raquel Segarra, his father Alberto Rodriguez. Sr., his aunt and godmother Leslin Segarra Molina, who raised him as her own son, his daughter Leah Rodriguez, and his granddaughter Ella. His honorary parents were Antonio Rodriguez and Nereida Rosario who loved him as their son with all of their hearts. He had many brothers and sisters: Israel, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Antonio, Lucy, Ivonne, Tito, Chris (sister-in law Millie), Carlos(sister-in law Nikki), Tony, Stephanie, Xavier, Xiomara, and Marichial. He was loved dearly by many nieces, nephews and friends who were also considered his family. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday May 16th from 6-8 p.m. at Community Funeral Chapels located at 798 Park Ave. in Bridgeport CT. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his granddaughter's educational fund.
