Aida Luz Rivera

Aida Luz Rivera, 87, of Bridgeport, the spouse of Gregorio T. Rivera, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016 in her home with her family by her side. She was a kindhearted and compassionate woman who treated her step grandchildren and step great grandchildren with unconditional love. Aida was a strong willed woman with an impeccable sense of style. She enjoyed traveling especially with her husband, stepson and daughter in law, watching classic films, cartoons, and volunteering at the food pantry at St. Charles Church. Aida Luz was born on October 28, 1928 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Eliseo Garay & Georgina Gonzalez. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Gregorio T. Rivera of Bridgeport, CT; son, Joseph Cruz & daughter-in-law Annie Cruz of Florida; daughter, Alida Acevedo & son-in-law Andres Acevedo of Florida; daughter, Darlene Perez & son-in-law Milton Perez of Florida; daughter, Aida Lydia Cabrera of Bristol, CT; daughter, Myrna Cruz Garay of PR; stepson, Nelson Rivera & his spouse Maria Rivera of Bridgeport, CT; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family who will cherish her memories forever.
